Lake viewpoints

Along Route 7 there are several viewpoints to stop for photos. Sunset, when the light hits the mountains, is the best time.

Rafting and kayaking

Rafting on the Mendoza River (the 12 km stretch is fine for beginners) and kayaking on the lake. The outfitters also offer zip lines and trekking.

Book a day ahead. During the snowmelt season (December to February) the river runs stronger.
